The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified its efforts against illegal drug activities, conducting a series of raids at known hotspots across the FCT.
The coordinated operation, carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Unit, targeted areas including SDP Junction in Gwagwalada, Lugbe Federal Housing by Tipper Garage, Wuse Zone 5 by Access Bank, and AYA Roundabout.
During the operation, eight suspects were apprehended as they attempted to flee upon sighting the police. The raids also led to the recovery of:
– 100 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition.
– A large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
– A significant amount of encapsulated illicit drugs.
The FCT Police Command emphasized its commitment to tackling illicit drug activities to enhance the safety and well-being of residents. Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, called on the public to cooperate with the police by reporting suspicious activities through emergency lines or nearby police stations.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh stated that the operations demonstrate the Command’s dedication to eradicating drug-related crimes and urged citizens to support these efforts.
