FCT Police Raid Illegal Drug Spots, Arrest Eight Suspects, Recover Ammunition, Illicit Substances

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified its efforts against illegal drug activities, conducting a series of raids at known hotspots across the FCT.

The coordinated operation, carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Unit, targeted areas including SDP Junction in Gwagwalada, Lugbe Federal Housing by Tipper Garage, Wuse Zone 5 by Access Bank, and AYA Roundabout.

During the operation, eight suspects were apprehended as they attempted to flee upon sighting the police. The raids also led to the recovery of:
– 100 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition.
– A large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
– A significant amount of encapsulated illicit drugs.

The FCT Police Command emphasized its commitment to tackling illicit drug activities to enhance the safety and well-being of residents. Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh stated that the operations demonstrate the Command’s dedication to eradicating drug-related crimes and urged citizens to support these efforts.
