FCT Police Commissioner Hosts Town Hall Meeting With Community Leaders To Boost Security

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, psc, convened a town hall meeting with the Hakimi of Kpaduma and the Hakimi of Kabi communities on Wednesday to reinforce security collaboration and strengthen community policing efforts.

During the gathering, held in Kpaduma, CP Disu emphasized the importance of community involvement in crime prevention, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly. He noted that enhanced cooperation between the police and local communities would significantly improve intelligence sharing and help address pressing security concerns in the area.

“Active participation from our community leaders and members is crucial to the success of our proactive policing strategies,” CP Disu stated. “We are committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents in the Federal Capital Territory, and we count on your support to achieve this.”

The meeting served as a platform for community leaders to voice their security-related issues, including concerns about neighborhood patrols, youth engagement, and the need for ongoing dialogue with law enforcement. CP Disu assured attendees that the Command would continue to explore innovative methods to bolster public safety, reiterating that crime prevention is a collective responsibility.

In a press release issued by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the Command reaffirmed its dedication to proactive policing and maintaining open channels of communication with the public. Residents were encouraged to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station.

The town hall meeting concluded with a pledge from both the FCT Police Command and the Hakimis to strengthen their partnership. As part of this commitment, regular follow-up sessions and joint security initiatives are expected to be implemented in the coming weeks, aimed at ensuring a safer environment for all.
