The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially welcomed Commissioner of Police (CP) Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, as the 33rd Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command.
CP Ajao assumed office on March 26, 2025, following the elevation and redeployment of his predecessor, AIG Olatunji Disu, psc.
With a distinguished law enforcement career spanning over 30 years, CP Ajao brings extensive experience in tactical operations, crime investigation, intelligence-led policing, and community policing. A native of Boripe LGA, Osun State, he obtained a B.Sc. in Geography Education from the University of Ilorin before joining the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994.
Throughout his career, CP Ajao has served in various key roles across multiple commands, including:
– Commissioner of Police, Surveillance Squad, Akwa Ibom State Police Command
– Deputy Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Lagos State
– Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos
– Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State
– Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit, Force CID, Abuja
– Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in several divisions across Lagos, Oyo, and Benue States
He has also participated in several professional courses, including:
– FBI Scene of Crime Examination & Preservation Course
– Tactical Leadership Command Course, Jaji, Kaduna
– Community Policing Field Trainers Course, Lagos
– Strategic Leadership Command Course, Abuja
As he takes over leadership in the FCT, CP Ajao has assured residents of his commitment to maintaining law and order, safeguarding lives and property, and fostering a strong police-community relationship in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.
