The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced activities to mark National Police Day 2025 with a three-day community outreach, running from April 3rd to 5th.

This year’s theme, “Say NO to Crime,” highlights the shared responsibility of law enforcement and the public in addressing crimes such as cultism, drug abuse, sexual-based violence, cybercrime, and kidnapping.

The first day of the event featured a clean-up exercise, reinforcing the role of a clean and safe environment in promoting security and community development. Commissioner of Police Ajao S. Adewale led officers of the FCT Police Command in a sanitation exercise at Lagos Street, Garki, and the Palace of the Sa’peyi of Garki. The initiative underscores the command’s dedication to engaging with the community beyond its traditional policing duties.

The Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his leadership and commitment to community-oriented policing. He emphasized that the ongoing modernization and reform of the Nigeria Police Force have continued to strengthen trust between officers and the public.

The FCT Police Command encourages residents to take part in the outreach programs and remain vigilant. Security, the command stressed, is a collective responsibility, and the public is urged to report any suspicious activities via the emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883.
