The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Iliayasu Mohammed, for allegedly murdering his friend, Safillahi Muhammad, in Dantata Village. The arrest followed a distress call received by the police at about 1:30 PM on February 13, 2025.

According to police investigations, Mohammed lured the victim to his home, served him food, and attacked him with a cutlass while he was eating. Officers who arrived at the scene found Muhammad unconscious in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Further inquiries revealed that Mohammed is an ex-convict and a member of a criminal gang led by a suspect identified as Hassan, who is currently at large. The gang is notorious for targeting motorcyclists to steal their vehicles.

The FCT Police Command has launched a manhunt for other members of the gang who are on the run. Mohammed will be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
