Ekwunife Commiserates With Fr. Obinna Nwajagu Over Mother’s Death


The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, Friday, August 13, 2021 joined the family of Nwajagu of Ugwu village, Awgbu, Orumba North LGA to bid farewell to their late mother, lady Elizabeth Akuchukwu Nwajagu.

Late Lady Nwajagu, who died at the age of 83 was a mother to Rev. Fr. Obinna Nwajagu. Fr. Nwajagu is a priest serving under the Catholic Diocese of Awka. This was disclosed in a press statement by Mr. Kingsley Ubani, SA Media to Senator Uche Ekwunife.

The funeral mass which was held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Awgbu was celebrated by the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Awka, Most Rev. Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor and had in attendance dignitaries namely Chief Sen Sir Victor Umeh and Hon. Ebele Ejiofor (Member representing Anaocha Constituency I in ASHA).

In her condolence message, Ekwunife expressed grief over the death of late lady Nwajagu, describing her as a virtuous woman who gave life, nurtured and brought up her children in good morals and the fear of God. She said that the deceased was a torch-bearer who set standards for her generation.

Ekwunife, on behalf of her family, extended condolences to Rev. Fr. Nwajagu and the entire family.

Others present were Priests, different congregations of Rev Sisters, Traditional Rulers, Knights and Ladies of the church amongst others.

On the Senator’s entourage were former Managing Director of Anambra state Physical Planning Board Chief Victor Okpoko, former Chairman ASUBEB, Dr. Rose Nwankwo, former Accountant General of Anambra state, Mrs. Helen Nwaeri, Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs. Ify Chinwuko, Comrade ABC Ubani amongst others.
