The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) Board of Directors has approved a 20 percent Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for all staff, effective July 2024. This decision underscores the company’s commitment to the well-being and financial stability of its workforce amid current economic realities.

Through this pay adjustment, EKEDC aims to help its staff maintain their quality of life and continue delivering exceptional service to customers. Dr. Oritsedere Otubu, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized the importance of the staff, stating, “Our employees are our greatest assets, and their dedication to improving our service to customers is admirable. We are proud of their unwavering commitment towards achieving success, and we are committed to improving their welfare. This adjustment is well deserved and is a call for continuous improvement as we work towards our goal of providing a safe, reliable, and uninterrupted power supply.”

Dr. Otubu also encouraged other companies to take similar steps to boost employee morale during this challenging economic period.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh expressed gratitude to the Board of Directors for the adjustment, noting that it will alleviate the effects of inflation and other economic pressures on staff. She stated, “In these challenging times, we must support our employees who work tirelessly to serve our customers. This cost-of-living adjustment is a testament to our commitment to their welfare and our appreciation for their hard work.”

The 20 percent adjustment will be reflected in the next payroll cycle and will apply to Senior Managers and below, while a 15 percent adjustment will apply to Principal Managers and above.

This initiative highlights EKEDC’s dedication to fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment. The company is recognized for its leadership in technology, customer experience, and service excellence.
