Dr. Solomon Arase Mourns Late CP Odita, Advocates Improved Welfare For Retired Police Officers

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission and retired Inspector General of Police, Dr. Solomon Arase has expressed his condolences to the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, the entire Nigeria Police Force, and the family of the late CP Frank Odita.

CP Frank Odita, who formerly served as the Force Public Relations Officer, was laid to rest on Friday, November 3rd, 2023.

Dr. Arase offered his prayers for God to grant the family and friends of the late CP Frank Odita the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

He also praised the qualities of the departed officer, describing him as an exemplary police officer and accomplished public relations practitioner.

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission commended the retired police officers’ fraternity for their support during CP Frank Odita’s illness.

He emphasized that it is high time to enhance the welfare of retired police officers, as many of them, including those of senior ranks, struggle to support themselves after retirement.

Dr. Arase emphasized that this situation does not reflect well on the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

Dr. Arase underscored that retired police officers have much to offer to the nation and should be provided with the opportunity to continue making valuable contributions to both themselves and the country.
