In a heart-wrenching plea, Mrs. Glory Osinachi, a mother from Amaoba Ime Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, is desperately seeking assistance from Nigerians to locate her three missing boys who were reportedly abducted by a commercial cyclist on Friday, May 10th, 2024.
The children, identified as eight-year-old Gideon Osinachi, six-year-old Divine Osinachi, and four-year-old Israel Osinachi, vanished without a trace, leaving their family and community in shock and disbelief. Gideon is in primary two, while Divine and Israel attend Nursery 3 and Nursery 1 respectively.
The incident occurred as the children were returning from their grandmother’s house, a routine they followed after school. Their grandmother usually sees them off on a motorcycle, a common mode of transportation in the area. However, upon reaching home, the children were nowhere to be found, sparking immediate concern and panic.
Mrs. Osinachi, visibly distraught, recounted the events, stating, “It happened on Friday at about 4:00 pm while returning from my mother-in-law’s house. Whenever they are returning from school, they would stop over at my mother-in-law’s and then later they would walk home or take a motorcycle.”
Community members have rallied together, searching tirelessly for any leads or information that could help locate the missing children. Despite efforts to involve the Commercial Cyclists Association, no breakthrough has been achieved thus far.
Expressing her anguish, Mrs. Osinachi lamented, “The children’s school, my mother-in-law’s house, and our house are within walking distance…This kind of thing has never happened before in this community.”
The matter has been reported to the Isiala Police Station, but as of now, there have been no updates on any arrests or significant developments in the case.
