The Delta State Police Command commemorated the NPF 2024 Servicom Week with a series of events that highlighted its dedication to community engagement and improved service delivery. The activities, which concluded on Saturday, brought together stakeholders, including civil society groups, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and other community leaders.
Throughout the week, the Command facilitated town hall meetings with various communities and held interactive sessions with students from higher institutions across Delta State. These engagements provided a platform for community members to raise concerns and discuss potential solutions, strengthening the bond between the police and the public.
In a bid to further contribute to community development, the Command visited primary and secondary schools where they provided humanitarian aid. Pupils were given books and uniforms, and officers used the opportunity to encourage the children to stay focused on their academics and avoid criminal activities as they grow older.
During the closing event, Comrade Akima Efemena praised the Delta State Police Command for its commitment to maintaining peace and order, despite the challenges faced by law enforcement officers. He attributed the improved security situation in Delta State to the strategic efforts of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, and his team. Efemena pledged continued support and partnership from the community to ensure sustained progress.
Similarly, the chairman of the PCRC Delta State Chapter, Comrade Amb. Oliver Eyefia, commended the synergy between the Command and the local communities. He expressed satisfaction with the Command’s service delivery and emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong relationship that has been built between the police and residents.
The NPF 2024 Servicom Week, designed to reinforce the police’s commitment to public service, showcased the Command’s efforts to enhance trust and collaboration with the public while promoting peace and security across Delta State.
