Delta State Police Command Launches Complaint Response Unit To Ensure Accountability, Professionalism

In alignment with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun’s unwavering commitment to eradicating corruption, extortion, and abuses of fundamental human rights, the Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has established a Complaints Response Unit (CRU) at the Command headquarters. This initiative aims to curb the excesses of police officers and ensure accountability and professionalism within the Delta State Police Command.

The CP, recognizing the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, has taken this proactive step to address any instances of excesses or inappropriate behavior demonstrated by police officers and personnel under the command. The CRU will operate under the direct supervision of the Police Public Relations Officer of the command.

To facilitate easy reporting, members of the public can channel complaints and relevant information on police actions through multiple channels. They can visit the CRU office at the Command Headquarters or contact the following dedicated phone numbers: 09155570008, 09011112311, 09064308018, 09066575187. Additionally, complaints can be submitted via the unit’s social media handles: Twitter (@Delta_PoliceCRU), Facebook (DeltaNG CRU), Instagram (@Delta_PoliceCRU), and the official email – deltapolicecru@gmail.com.

CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, while reiterating his zero tolerance for the abuse of authorities, emphasized the IGP’s commitment to fighting corruption and unprofessionalism. He pledged to promptly sanction any erring officer and encouraged the public to collaborate closely with the Police Command Complaint Response Unit.
