Delta State Police Command Celebrates Promotion of Three Deputy Commissioners, One Assistant Commissioner


On June 25, 2024, a celebratory atmosphere enveloped the Police Officers Mess in Okwe, Asaba, as the Delta State Police Command witnessed the decoration of newly promoted officers. Commissioner of Police (CP) Olufemi Abaniwonda officiated the ceremony on behalf of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, with assistance from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Administration, Wilfred Afolabi.

The officers honored with their new ranks included DCP Oladipo Sunday, DCP Abubaka Mohammed Bashir, DCP Lamba Dauda Bot, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Imade Osazee Graham. Prior to their promotions, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioners of Police served as Area Commanders in Asaba, Warri, and Ogwashi-Uku, respectively. ACP Graham Osazee Imade held the position of Commander of the Dragon Patrol in the Delta State Police Command.

During the decoration ceremony, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda commended the officers for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities. He urged the officers to continue their diligent service, ensuring they do not disappoint the IGP or the public.

“The reward for hard work is more work,” CP Abaniwonda reminded the newly promoted officers, encouraging them to maintain their commitment and dedication in their new roles.

The event was well attended and marked by a sense of pride and achievement, reflecting the officers’ contributions to the security and safety of Delta State.
