It was a joyous scene as the Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+ decorated the newly promoted officers of the Command, who benefited from the recently released promotion by the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Baba Usman psc+ fdc, NPM.
A total of one hundred and thirty officers were promoted to their next rank. Among those promoted are the Area Commander Ogwashi-Uku, ACP Obiozo Cyril Uche, promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Area Commander Burutu, ACP Adepegba Kolawole Adetoye, who was also promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The DPO Ugborikoko, CSP Okon Martha Edet, was promoted to the rank of the Assistant Commissioner of Police. They were all congratulated and decorated by the Delta state Commissioner of Police.
Other officers decorated include DSP Achem Collins Arrey, DSP Princewell Eke, and DSP Akanya Agboga all of which were ASP before their promotions. The 2/IC PPRO, ASP Edna Bassey was promoted from the rank of ASP II to ASP I.
CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA,psc+, assisted by members of his management team remarked that the promotion is part of the IGP’s way of motivating officers and men of the force.
The CP also stated that the reward for hard work is more work, hence they should be aware that as their ranks have increased, it comes with increased responsibility.
The CP thanked IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc+, fdc, NPM for finding his officers worthy of the promotion and urged them to be hard working, because to whom much is given, much is expected.
One of the promotee ACP Okon Martha Edet, speaking on behalf of officers promoted thanked the IGP for finding them worthy of the promotions and also assured the IGP and the CP that they will not disappoint, also that they will brace up to the new challenges that come with the new ranks.
