Delta State Commissioner For Youths Denies Gun Possession Allegations

In response to recent allegations circulating on social media, the Delta State Commissioner for Youths, Hon Agbateyiniro Weyinmi, vehemently denies any involvement in the possession of firearms. The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, issued a press release cautioning the public against the spread of false information.

The controversy originated from a post by Fejiro Oliver, claiming that Commissioner Weyinmi was found with a sack containing guns. According to Oliver’s post, the firearms were allegedly handed over to Ekpan Police Station, and the Commissioner was accused of orchestrating the murder of a police officer in Delta State.

Commissioner Olufemi dismissed the allegations as baseless and mischievous, emphasizing that no such incident had been recorded by the Delta State Police Command. He urged the public to disregard the false information, labeling it as both misleading and laughable.

The Delta State Police Command emphasized its commitment to upholding the truth, cautioning against the spread of fake news. Commissioner Olufemi warned that individuals spreading false information would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

DSP Edafe Bright, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, urged the public, media, and journalists to verify information directly through the Command’s official channels to ensure accuracy.
