Following the attack on Police operatives from the Dragon Patrol team on 23/7/2023, a distressing incident in which two officers lost their lives and their patrol vehicle was set ablaze by suspected bandits during a routine stop and search duty at Oleh roundabout, Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Wale Abass, took swift action. He immediately assembled a joint team of Policemen from the Ozoro Area command and the Dragon Patrol, along with the support of Nigerian Army’s 63 Brigade and local vigilantes, to apprehend the attackers.

The combined team acted promptly and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun battle. Despite the resistance, they managed to overpower the criminals, who eventually fled into the nearby bush, carrying gunshot wounds.

During their pursuit, the team followed a trail of blood leading to a river where they made a significant discovery – one AK-47 rifle was recovered on the same day as the incident.
