Dabiri-Erewa Applauds Nigerian Broadcaster Richard Edoki on Prestigious UK Award Nomination

The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian-born broadcaster Richard Edoki, popularly known as Richybongo, on his nomination for the Best Newcomer category at the National Hospital Radio Awards 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit at NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in Abuja.

Dabiri-Erewa lauded Edoki’s efforts as a shining example of Nigerian excellence in the diaspora, describing his achievement as a source of pride for the nation. She also extended her best wishes for his success at the awards ceremony, scheduled for April 5, 2025, in Leicestershire, UK.

The National Hospital Radio Awards, organized annually by the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA), recognizes outstanding contributions to hospital broadcasting across the UK.

Richard Edoki, host of African Vibe with Richybongo on the Community & Hospital Broadcasting Network (CHBN Radio) in Cornwall, has been acknowledged for his remarkable efforts in promoting African culture and fostering inclusivity and diversity. His Sunday evening radio program seeks to celebrate African heritage while strengthening cultural bonds with the Cornish community.

Before relocating to the UK three years ago, Edoki built a successful broadcasting career at Silverbird/Rhythm in Nigeria.
