In an official visit to Kebbi Area Command, the Zonal Coordinator for Zone B, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima, emphasized the importance of collaboration with local stakeholders to enhance regional security and compliance in cross-border trade. The visit on November 8, 2024, was part of ACG Dangaladima’s tour across Zone B to reinforce customs operations and community relations.
Addressing officers and personnel during a parade, ACG Dangaladima praised the Customs Area Controller and his team for their commitment to fulfilling the core mandates of customs service. He acknowledged their efforts in maintaining security within Kebbi State and encouraged continued vigilance. “The Customs leadership believes in your capacity to protect this area,” he stated, underscoring the need to strengthen ties with sister agencies, traditional rulers, and local stakeholders.
In a closed-door meeting, the ACG urged stakeholders to remain compliant with customs laws and regulations in their trading activities, highlighting the role of lawful cross-border trade in regional stability.
The visit also included the commissioning of a new five-a-side football pitch and an E-library/Learning Centre, both funded by stakeholders as part of a capacity-building initiative. These facilities align with the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi’s vision to promote work-life balance and professional development among customs officers.
Concluding his tour, ACG Dangaladima paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, seeking his blessings and reaffirming the customs service’s commitment to collaboration with local leaders for improved security and economic growth.
The visit highlights the Nigeria Customs Service’s dedication to community partnership and capacity enhancement as essential elements of its strategic operations across the region.
