CUSTOMS OFFICIAL LYNCHED IN KATSINA: Comptroller Mohammed Umar Offers Condolences

The Customs Area Controller of Katsina Command, Comptroller Mohammed Umar, visited the family of late Customs Assistant II Auwal Haruna in his hometown on behalf of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, who tragically lost his life while on duty.

In a somber visit to the Kayawa community in Dutsi Local Government Area of Katsina State, Comptroller Muhammed Umar expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and members of the Kayawa community for the irreparable loss. He acknowledged Auwal’s dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty, emphasizing the Service’s loss of a disciplined and committed officer.

Additionally, Comptroller Umar assured the family of the deceased that the Service has launched a thorough investigation to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act and pledged to ensure justice is served.

The Chairman of Dutsi Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulrazzak Adamu, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the deceased family members for the Service’s support during this challenging time. He urged the Service to expedite efforts in bringing the culprits to justice.

A moment of prayer was held during the visit for the eternal peace of the fallen hero, Auwal Haruna.
