In a prestigious event held at the International Conference Center in Abuja on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) was bestowed with the Award of Excellence in Regulatory Compliance by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The esteemed award was accepted by the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, a distinguished figure of the Institute and the longest-serving National Public Relations Officer (NPRO) in the history of the Service.
Representatives of the NIPR and IMPR lauded CGC Adeniyi’s leadership and dedication, recognizing his pivotal role in shaping the NCS’s reputation for compliance and transparency. The NCS was carefully selected for this remarkable award, surpassing competitors such as the Nigeria Communications Commission and Green Ville LNG, owing to its unwavering commitment to regulatory standards and proactive approach to compliance.
In addition to the accolade bestowed upon the NCS, Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer, clinched the prestigious title of ‘Best Spokesperson Of The Year 2024’ at the NIPR’s competitive awards ceremony.
CSC Maiwada’s recognition underscores his exceptional communication skills and strategic prowess, which have significantly enhanced the NCS’s public image and fostered transparent communication channels.
