Customs CG Inspects Progress of Customs Cantonment Construction In Mando, Kaduna


In a proactive move to oversee the development of crucial infrastructure, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, visited the construction site of the Customs Cantonment in Mando, Kaduna, on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Addressing the media after inspecting the ongoing project, CGC Adeniyi highlighted the significance of the construction, emphasizing its role in establishing a robust and efficient infrastructure to support the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service.

“I am here this afternoon to inspect the progress of this vital project, the construction of the Customs Cantonment in Mando, Kaduna. This initiative underscores our commitment to establishing a solid and efficient infrastructure to drive the activities of the Nigeria Customs Service,” stated the CGC.

He explained that the construction of the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘B’ is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the welfare of Customs personnel. The new facilities will provide modern amenities to enable personnel to carry out their duties effectively.

Describing the project as a priority for the Service, Adeniyi emphasized that the completed structure would serve as a cornerstone for Customs operations in the region, strengthening the capacity to safeguard borders and combat illicit activities.

Commending the dedication and hard work of those involved in the project, the CGC stated, “Your efforts are instrumental in realizing our vision of a modern and efficient Customs Service.”

Earlier in the day, the Customs CG was accorded a ceremonial guard of honor by personnel from the Customs Police Unit at the Zonal Headquarters in Kabala-Doki, Kaduna. The visit underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service to continually enhance its infrastructure, operational efficiency, and overall service delivery.
