The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare M. Jimoh, has held a crucial meeting with all Tactical Commanders under the command, emphasizing the need for sustained efforts in crime reduction, professionalism, and strict adherence to human rights regulations.

The meeting, which took place on February 22, 2025, at the Command Headquarters, lasted for about four hours. During the session, CP Jimoh directed officers to intensify their crackdown on criminal activities, ensuring that the crime rate in Lagos State is reduced to its lowest possible level. He reiterated that this directive aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.

In his address, CP Jimoh stressed the importance of upholding human rights, warning that any officer found violating the rights of individuals would face disciplinary measures in line with police regulations and national laws. He further declared zero tolerance for the maltreatment of suspects in police custody, instructing all officers with detention facilities to strictly adhere to police procedures on the care and custody of detainees.

Additionally, the Commissioner mandated that suspects be promptly charged to court within the statutory timeframe, ensuring due process is followed in all cases.

The meeting comes less than a week after CP Jimoh assumed office as the 41st Commissioner of Police for Lagos State on February 18, 2025. It aligns with his commitment, as stated in his maiden address, to deliver optimal police services aimed at safeguarding the lives and property of Lagos residents.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, confirmed the development in an official statement on February 22, 2025.
