On 6th August 2024, Commissioner of Police Anambra Command, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, welcomed Prof. Sylvia Chika Ifemeje, the Anambra State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, to the Police Command Headquarters in Awka. The visit marked a significant step in fostering stronger collaboration between the Police Command and the Ministry of Justice.

During the visit, CP Obono Itam emphasized the vital role of the Ministry of Justice in Nigeria’s justice system and expressed a commitment to maintaining a robust working relationship. He highlighted the Command’s intent to work closely with the Ministry to facilitate prompt trials, efficient bail processes, and the swift dispensation of justice. This partnership aims to address the issue of overcrowded correctional facilities throughout the state.
