CP Itam Enhances Administrative Proficiency, Visits DSS Formation In Awka


On May 14, 2024, Commissioner of Police (CP) Nnaghe Obono Itam delivered a lecture to the heads of units in the Administrative Department, emphasizing the enhancement of their proficiency. The lecture focused on the department’s critical role in managing strategic planning, welfare, human resources, and performance assessment within the Nigeria Police Force.

CP Itam highlighted the importance of maintaining the Force’s values of discipline, transparency, responsibility, responsiveness, and accountability. He condemned any form of abuse of office, corruption, and unprofessional conduct, particularly in handling correspondence and mail. “Such anomalies not only undermine the professional standards of the Police but also erode public trust in the Force,” Itam stated. He reinforced the Command’s commitment to upholding law enforcement, public order, public safety, and support services in the state.

In a related development, CP Itam paid a courtesy visit to the Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State. During the visit, he underscored the DSS as a vital partner in crime-fighting and internal security stabilization. CP Itam called for enhanced cooperation and collaboration, particularly in intelligence gathering, joint operations, and related activities.

The Commissioner was received by Mr. Adesina Bolarinwa MNSE FSI, Director of State Services, along with other senior members of the DSS management.

This initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts to improve administrative efficiency and strengthen partnerships with key security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the state.
