Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam has underscored the importance of investigative skills and competency during a lecture today with personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Awka. In his address, CP Itam provided detailed guidelines and reviewed the department’s modus operandi, emphasizing the critical role the CID plays in the state’s law enforcement efforts.
CP Itam highlighted the CID’s responsibility to identify and prosecute offenders, stressing the need for personnel to be proficient in turning investigative information into actionable intelligence. He also outlined procedures for assessing petitions, determining whether cases should proceed to prosecution, aiding in administrative decisions, and recovering resources.
In addition to his lecture, CP Itam has initiated a comprehensive tour of area commands, formations, and police divisional headquarters across the state. This tour aims to assess manpower deployment, personnel positioning, and the physical condition of police facilities. His visits have included the Area Command Aguata Headquarters, Aguata Divisional Headquarters, Umunze Divisional Headquarters, and the Joint Operation Base led by the police in Aguata, among others.
CP Itam assured the people of Anambra State, known as Ndi Anambra, of a superior policing experience under his leadership.
