Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, expressed his satisfaction with the courage displayed by officers in the command, particularly those in Ihiala and its surrounding areas. These officers have been instrumental in sustaining operations against criminal elements aiming to disrupt peace and make life difficult for innocent citizens.

CP Itam made these remarks on June 7, 2024, during a confidence-building patrol throughout the state, which included a visit to the Ihiala Area Command. The patrol aimed to demonstrate a strong police presence, fostering trust among the residents of Anambra State to ensure effective policing.

During his address, CP Itam urged the officers to remain resolute and firm while adhering to the Standard Operational principles of Police Mobile training. He emphasized the need for officers to act swiftly and silently to surprise criminals. He also called on the people of Anambra to stay vigilant, abide by the law, and support the police and security community by providing timely and credible crime prevention information.

The patrol route covered key areas, including Onitsha Expressway, Dunkofia, Nkpor Flyover, Nkpor Junction, Obosi, Idemili Flyover, Owerri Road, Oba, Orafite, Ozubulu, Azia, Ihiala, Enugu Ukwu, Ogidi, Oye-Agu Market, Amawbia, and concluded in the state capital, Awka.
