The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Olarenwaju Ishola, has pledged to strengthen collaboration with Nigerian students in the fight against crime and social vices. This commitment was made during a meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Lagos Chapter, at the State Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Led by Comrade Olamilekan Alimi, the NANS executives discussed ways to improve relations between the police and students, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in tackling crime. Comrade Alimi assured the Commissioner that students are committed to supporting the police by providing timely, actionable information to aid crime prevention. He also requested that Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in student-populated areas adopt a more helpful and friendly approach when interacting with students.
In response, CP Ishola commended the students for their role in maintaining peace within their institutions and the state at large. He assured them that the Lagos Police Command would continue to prioritize their safety and security, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong relations with the student community.
