In response to recent concerns over security, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, held a crucial meeting today with strategic commanders to address the resurgence of traffic robberies and disturbances in the state.

The meeting gathered all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and other key officers, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

During the meeting, CP Owohunwa left no room for ambiguity, warning all officers against dereliction of duty and stressing that any officer found negligent would face appropriate consequences.

He called on them to review and strengthen their security strategies in their respective areas of responsibility (AORs) to effectively combat traffic robberies and other criminal activities.

To ensure an immediate and comprehensive response, CP Owohunwa has initiated a state-wide operation known as “Operation Flush.”

The operation is specifically designed to identify and address problem areas, especially construction zones, which have become hotspots for criminal activities.

The primary objective of Operation Flush is to rid the state of criminals, particularly traffic robbers and other miscreants.

This operation has already commenced, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

In light of these efforts, CP Owohunwa appealed to the residents and visitors of Lagos State to actively support the police in their fight against crime by providing timely information and necessary assistance.

While noting that community involvement and cooperation are crucial to curbing criminal activities effectively, the Commissioner of Police expressed his commitment to the safety and security of all Lagosians.

He assured the public that the Lagos State Police Command will continue to collaborate closely with the government and other stakeholders to ensure that optimum security is maintained for everyone.
