CP Fayoade Affirms Zero Tolerance For Lawlessness Amid Proposed Protests

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has assured Lagosians of robust security measures in place to safeguard lives and property, ensuring smooth traffic flow and a peaceful environment for lawful activities. This statement comes in response to reports of nationwide protests planned for Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

CP Fayoade emphasized the Command’s commitment to upholding the fundamental human rights of all citizens, including the rights to dignity and freedom of movement. He warned that any attempts to disrupt public order or infringe upon the rights of others would face strict legal consequences.

“The Command will fulfil its mandate of ensuring that no person or group of persons undermines the fundamental human rights of others,” stated CP Fayoade. He urged all prospective protesters to avoid actions that could impede commercial activities or obstruct traffic flow.

The Commissioner reassured law-abiding residents to carry on with their daily activities without fear of harassment or intimidation, noting that strategic deployment of security personnel would be in place to maintain public order.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, reiterated the Commissioner’s message, underscoring the readiness of the police to ensure the safety and security of all Lagosians.
