The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, convened significant meetings with representatives of the Kano State Civil Society Forum and the Hoteliers Association Kano on July 10th and 11th, 2024. Held at the State Headquarters in Bompai, Kano, these meetings underscored the pivotal roles of civil society organizations and hoteliers in maintaining peace and security within the state.
During the engagements, CP Salman Dogo Garba expressed sincere appreciation for the invaluable cooperation extended by both groups towards the efforts of the Police Command in combating crime and ensuring public safety. Emphasizing the importance of proactive security measures, CP Dogo urged continued vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities to enhance preemptive actions.
“I want to start by welcoming and appreciating you for the cooperation you have been extending to the Police Command,” stated CP Dogo. “Prevention is better, safer, and cheaper than cure. Therefore, we need your support and cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of our state. Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.”
In response, Comrade Mohammed Bello, President of the Kano State Civil Society Forum, and Mr. Moses Elusade, Vice President II of the Hoteliers Association Kano, commended CP Dogo for fostering dialogue aimed at strengthening partnerships between their organizations and law enforcement. They assured the Commissioner of Police of their organizations’ commitment to providing maximum support in maintaining law and order across Kano State.
The meetings concluded with a mutual commitment to ongoing collaboration, aimed at fostering a safer environment for residents and visitors alike. Such partnerships, it was agreed, are essential for effective crime prevention and the promotion of community safety initiatives.
