CP Ali Vows To Combat Crime, Violence In Delta State And Its Environs

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ has vowed to make the state unbearable for criminal elements in the state, and as such DPOS have key into the desire of the commissioner of police, due to intelligence gathering, community policing, and vital information from members of the public, the command has been recording successes against these hoodlums, and it will continue, with the support of members of the public, the command will continue to deliver on the promises of the commissioner of police Delta State, and make Delta State safe for all. Part of the success recorded are highlighted below.

Sequel to manhunt of some suspects, that has been terrorizing the command and It’s environ of armed robbery, kidnappings, attack on police officers and carting away their arms.

Base on intelligence gathering, the commander Eagle net special squad SP DIMKA USMAN detailed EAGLE-NET special squad team led by DSP INUSA DANYAYA and some civilian Anti-Cult Unit, who stormed a notorious criminal hideout in Oghor community in UDU local government where some criminal elements who has been terrorizing the state are hiding, on the arrival of the police [patrol team and civilian anti-cult, a gun battle ensued between the police and the hoodlums that led to the arrest of; (1) Henry Ogori ‘male’ 25yrs of NO. 18 Ifiha street UDU, (2) Kennedy Akpotu ‘male’ 19yrs of Oghor community udu, (3) Promise Ophiomo ‘male’ 24yrs of NO.35 Ogbe road udu, (4) Daniel Believe ‘male’ 19yrs of shell qtrs DSC, (5) Daniel Sele ‘male’ 25yrs of Ogbe street udu, (6) Paul Zion ‘male’ 25yrs of oghor community udu, (7) Igah Aminu ‘male’ 27yrs of sadisco area warri (8) Philip Choice ‘male’ 26 of oghor community, (9) Joshua Ogunamen ‘male’ 21yrs, (10) Johnson Opiomo ‘male’ 22yrs of NO.36 ogbe road and (11) Joshua God’swill ‘male’ 24yrs of ujewu qrts udu. One of the suspects, Igah Aminu later died due to gun shot injury. Exhibits recovered includes; two (2) English made beretta pistols, three (3) rounds of live 9mm caliber of ammunition and six (6) mobile phones. Suspects have confessed to the crime and effort is intensified for the possible arrest of the fleeing suspects who escaped with bullet injuries.

Sequel to a report by one of the indigene of Ovade community that at about 1230hrs, along Oviade road to Oghara, he came across three boys armed with a short barrel gun and they blocked his path attempting to snatch his unregistered Daylong motorcycle but he was able to escape from them and raised alarm that attracted passersby, they gave them a hot chase.

The DPO Oghara mobilized patrol men to the scene where they met the suspect one Gabriel Igodo ‘male’ 35yrs already beaten to stupor, suspect was rushed to the hospital where he later died. One short barrel gun with one live cartridge was recovered. Investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.

In addition, a distress call was received from the S/O Ekakpmre out post under Otu-Jeremi Division, that member of confraternity cult group, led by one oghenerona young goddy ‘male’ alia king Jaja of Ekakpmre/Egbou Hurie communities Otu-Jeremi went to the home of one Ebeni Jelekun ‘male’ 29yrs of Ekakpmre, who belong to Aiye confratanity cult group shot him severally and fled.

The Divisional police officer otu-jeremi CSP Pius Eredei led patrol teams to the scene, 6 expanded ‘AA’ cartridges were recovered, the victim was rushed to Otu-Jeremi general hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, corpse deposited in the Otu-Jeremi general hospital mortuary.

The Divisional police officer intensified effort to arrest the suspects, and as a result, two cultists Omoyevwe Emmanuel ‘male’ age 29yrs and marcus michael ‘male’ age 24yrs both of Usienfurun community were arrested with charms recovered from them, and investigation is still ongoing.

The Commissioner of police is urging members of the public to continue to support and help the police by giving vital information’s to the police, and like he has always assured all, their identity will be concealed. Together lets all make Delta safe for everybody, these are the words of the CP.
