The Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, on Monday presented a brand new Toyota Hilux vehicle to Army Warrant Officer (AWO) Simon Odidi, former Corps Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), Nigerian Army Signals Headquarter.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Asst. Director, Army Public Relations Headquarters, Nigerian Army Signals, Lt. Abayomi Adisa.
The COAS was represented by the Commander Corps of Signals (CCS) Maj.-Gen. Abiodun Owolabi at the event which held at the Headquarters, Nigerian Army Signals, Apapa-Lagos.
Owolabi congratulated the RSM and urged him to reciprocate the gesture by imbibing good maintenance culture for the vehicle to serve its purpose.
“The presentation is aimed at restoring the prestige associated with the office of the RSM, in line with the customs, ethics and traditions of the Nigerian Army,” the Commander said.
Meanwhile, Odidi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the COAS and the CCS for finding him worthy as a beneficiary of the notable gesture and promised to put the vehicle in good use.
