CGC Adeniyi Honored With Certificate Of Excellence At SABRE Awards Africa 2024


Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Adewale Adeniyi, has been awarded a certificate of excellence for his outstanding public relations efforts during his first 100 days in office. This recognition was bestowed upon him at the 2024 SABRE African Public Relations Association (APRA) Awards and annual conference, held from May 13-18.

The SABRE Awards, renowned as Africa’s largest and most prestigious public relations competition, honor excellence in creativity, integrity, and effectiveness within the industry. Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS spokesman, emphasized that this accolade underscores the high standards achieved by Adeniyi in both public relations and governance.

In his acceptance speech, CGC Adeniyi expressed his gratitude to the award organizers. “I am very grateful for this recognition, but I hope that this will inspire us in Nigeria Customs Service and will provide impactful leadership in governance in Nigeria,” he said.

Adeniyi also extended his thanks to Image Merchants, the team behind the successful public relations initiatives in Nigeria. Reflecting on the conference, he remarked, “It has been four days of networking, meeting with people, and positive public relations – and I am optimistic that APRA will continue to wax stronger.”

Adeniyi’s achievements in public relations are further highlighted by his status as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and his active membership in the African Public Relations Association (APRA). His recognition at the SABRE Awards marks a significant milestone for the Nigeria Customs Service, showcasing the agency’s commitment to excellence and effective communication.
