CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF PA OGWUGWUA UDEMAGWUNA: Burial Rites Set For August 2

The Christian burial rites for Mr. Benjamin Ogwugwua Udemagwuna, also known as B.O, are set to commence on August 2, 2024, at Idumu-Ogbele Quarters, Ishiekpe Village, Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.

Pa Udemagwuna, who passed away at the age of 81, was the foster father of The Guardian’s Head of Defence and Security Affairs, Odita Sunday-Udemagwuna. Together with his wife, he nurtured Odita to adulthood.

The burial ceremonies will begin with a Service of Songs at Ogwugwua’s family compound, Idumu-Ogbele Quarters, Onicha-Ugbo on August 2, at 5:00 PM. The following day, August 3, the body will depart from God’s Time Mortuary, Issele-Uku, for Onicha-Ugbo at 7:00 AM, with a lying in state at Ogwugwua’s family compound by 9:00 AM. A funeral service will take place at Saint Stephen’s Anglican Church, Onicha-Ugbo, at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at his family compound. Guests will be entertained at Gbonoza Primary School, Onicha-Ugbo, at 2:00 PM. The Outing/Thanksgiving Service will be held at Saint Stephen’s Anglican Church, Onicha-Ugbo, on August 4.

Pa Udemagwuna is survived by his children, siblings, and grandchildren, including professionals in law, journalism, local government administration, and clergy.

A devoted Anglican and Lay Reader, Pa Udemagwuna was known for his community service and philanthropy. He was a successful businessman, owning a popular supermarket and patent medicine store in Onicha-Ugbo during the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. He significantly impacted many lives, raising his children and those of others without a bloodline connection to him. He served the Anglican Communion with his material wealth and dedicated service.
