Nigerian music sensation Balogun Adewale Akanji, better known by his stage name Barry Showkey, is set to thrill fans with the release of his new single, “ROBOROBO”, on May 15, 2025. Barry Showkey, the son of the late Fuji music icon Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (fondly called Alhaji Agba Barusati), carries the rich legacy of a pioneer who created the Fuji music genre. However, Showkey is not content to simply follow in his father’s footsteps—he is carving out a distinct sound of his own, merging traditional Fuji rhythms with modern, genre-blending vibes.

In a pre-release interview, the multi-talented artist described “ROBOROBO” as a personal and symbolic project that reflects resilience, authenticity, and rhythm.

“My father always told me, ‘Focus on your own path, build your legacy, don’t depend on mine.’ That’s the energy behind ROBOROBO,” Barry Showkey shared.
