ASIMPIN Commends Comptroller General of Customs For Outstanding First Year In Office

The Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria (ASIMPIN) has lauded Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi MFR for his remarkable achievements during his first year in office. In a letter signed by ASIMPIN’s President General, Eze Amb. Demian Emeka Obianigwe KSM, the association highlighted the significant progress made under Adeniyi’s leadership.

The letter praised Adeniyi and his management team for their dedication to reinstating a professional administration within the Nigeria Customs Service. ASIMPIN acknowledged the Comptroller General’s efforts in promoting meritocracy, fairness, and human capacity development within the workforce.

“ASIMPIN is a witness to the return of a professional Nigeria Customs Service administration in all ramifications,” the letter stated. “We observed your administrative strong will towards the reenthronement of meritocracy and fairness in workforce administration and the deployed human capacity development programs in the system.”

The association emphasized that Adeniyi’s first year in office has seen numerous milestones and improvements, gaining appreciation from stakeholders within the port value-adding supply chain. “It is not an overstatement to posit that, within your first one-year stewardship in the Nigeria Customs, major milestone achievements have been recorded to your credit and to the appreciation of the stakeholders in the port value-adding supply chain,” the letter continued.

ASIMPIN’s President General, in a phone conversation, expressed confidence in Adeniyi’s ability to introduce significant innovations and novel ideas in the coming years, potentially elevating the Nigeria Customs Service to a prominent position within the World Customs Organization. Obianigwe urged personnel and other stakeholders to continue supporting the Comptroller General and align with his progressive initiatives.

The congratulatory message concluded with best wishes for continued success: “We wish you greater success in the years ahead. Accept our congratulations.”

ASIMPIN’s endorsement of Adeniyi underscores the broad support and positive reception of his administration within the maritime and customs sectors.
