Feb 20, 2024

In a swift and well-coordinated operation, the Anambra State Joint Security Force has successfully raided an insurgents’ camp in Achalla, the headquarters of Awka North Local Government Area (LGA) in Anambra State.

The operation, commanded by the vigilant Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, caught the insurgents off guard, prompting them to flee the scene with gunshot wounds, leaving behind a trail of blood. The insurgents had previously disrupted trading activities at Achalla Market, compelling traders to stay home on the previous Monday. This incident drew the attention of the State’s Security Apparatus, leading to a decisive response from the State Police Command on Monday, February 19, 2024.

The meticulously executed operation resulted in a significant victory, with the recovery of five exotic vehicles that had been previously snatched at gunpoint. Additionally, the security forces seized over 300 rounds of Machine Gun Ammunition and 34 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition designed for AK-47 Rifles.

All operatives involved in the operation, representing various security services, have safely returned to their base after the successful mission.

The Commissioner of Police has issued directives for the owners of the recovered vehicles to come forward with proof of ownership to claim their vehicles. Simultaneously, a thorough manhunt for the fleeing insurgents will be extended to hospitals and clinics, ensuring their apprehension and subsequent delivery of justice after receiving necessary medical treatment.
