Anambra State Police Commissioner Revamps Security Measures, Engages Strategic Officers In Action Plan

In a bid to enhance security service delivery and ensure the safety of residents in Anambra State, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has initiated a series of strategic measures aimed at repositioning the Command.

Addressing key officers at the Command Headquarters in Awka, CP Itam underscored the importance of responsiveness and commitment among police personnel. He emphasized the need for continuous training and development, directing the establishment of training officers at the Area Command level to provide refresher courses for officers on various aspects of police duties, including musketry.

Furthermore, CP Itam stressed the significance of collaboration with other security agencies to foster a coordinated approach in responding to security challenges within the state. This concerted effort, he noted, is crucial for effectively addressing incidents and maintaining law and order.

In a demonstration of partnership and coordination, CP Itam paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 13 Headquarters, AIG Godwin Aghaulor. During the visit, CP Itam acquainted himself with the senior officers of the Zone and notified AIG Aghaulor of his assumption as the Commissioner of Police for Anambra State.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy Commissioners of Police responsible for Finance & Administration, Operations, and Criminal Investigations within the Zone.

With these proactive measures and engagements, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam aims to revitalize the security apparatus in Anambra State, ensuring that the police force is well-equipped and strategically positioned to fulfill its mandate of protecting lives and property.

As the Command embarks on this renewed mission, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to maintaining peace and security within the state, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and delivering effective law enforcement services to the people.
