The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Everestus C Obiyo JP+ has called on officers and men of the command to justify the confidence reposed on them by carrying out their responsibilities diligently, stressing the need for them to redouble their efforts towards reducing the uprising of insecurity across the State.

DSC Okadigbo Edwin, NSCDC Public Relations Officer said Comdt. Obiyo stated this on April 7 at the State Command Headquarters Awka while addressing officers and men during a muster parade.

“He tasked the Corps personnel to remain committed and disciplined in the fight against crimes and criminality across the State.

“He warned that any Civil Defender under his watch who is caught compromising intelligence, abandoning his statutory responsibility or display negative tendencies that will deter members of the public from partnering with the Corps will be dealt with accordingly.

“While assuring officers and men of Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, the Commandant Generals’ commitment to improving the welfare of officers; urged them to work in tandem with the vision and mission of the CG to deliver on the said goals in making Nigeria safe.

“Mr. Obiyo enjoined officers and men not to be deterred in the delivering the Corps mandate, stressing that the Commandant General has always been proud and commended their gallant efforts not only in the protection of government critical assets/Infrastructure, and fight against pipeline vandalization but warding off crimes in the state.

“The State Commandant who instantly instituted Commandants’ award for dedicated and patriotic officers who displayed examplary behavior in service used the parade to appreciate and reward ASC I Okoye Florence (sports unit) who represented the Corps and won silver medal at the just concluded 5th edition of one service one medal (OSOM) games 2022.” he said.
