Anambra State Is Safe For Visitors And Tourists – CP Orutugu

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, has reaffirmed that Anambra State remains a safe and secure destination for visitors and tourists. Speaking on March 30, 2025, CP Orutugu highlighted the recent cultural display by his community, Okpoama Kingdom of Brass Local Government in Bayelsa State, as a testament to the peaceful and welcoming atmosphere in Anambra.

The event, which drew dignitaries including revered chiefs from Bayelsa State and the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim, underscored the importance of cultural unity and cooperation. CP Orutugu emphasized that the successful hosting of such a diverse gathering further validates Anambra’s position as an attractive and secure destination.

Anambra State boasts a rich cultural heritage with notable tourist attractions such as Agulu Lake, Ogbunike Cave, and the Igbo Ukwu Museum, which highlight the state’s historical and artistic significance. Additionally, the state hosts vibrant festivals, including Imo Awka, Afia Oru, New Yam, and Ofala Festivals, which celebrate the cultural diversity and traditions of its people.

In his goodwill message, CP Orutugu extended warm felicitations to the Christian community on the occasion of Mothering Sunday and to the Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. He assured all residents and visitors of the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to maintaining peace and security across the state.
