The Anambra State Police Command has intensified efforts to apprehend those responsible for a deadly cult-related attack in Nibo on October 20, 2024, which left five people dead and three others seriously injured. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, led a team of police operatives to the scene for a spot assessment on October 21, 2024. During the visit, he reaffirmed the Command’s determination to leave no stone unturned in tracking down the assailants behind the brutal attack.
The police also condemned attempts by some relatives of the deceased to interfere with the investigation by attempting to bury evidence and suppress information. The Command warned that such actions could hinder the ongoing investigation and vowed to bring all those involved to justice.
