Law enforcement officers from the Area Command Headquarters in Ihiala, in collaboration with Anambra State Vigilante operatives in Okija, On July 15, 2023, recovered a HOWO trailer with the registration number Delta AKU 247 XB that was found to be transporting 1000 bags of Bua cement.

According to the information received, the truck had been hijacked at gunpoint on July 14, 2023, at Obiliokite in Delta State, by unidentified individuals.

When the armed criminals spotted a joint patrol team consisting of police and vigilantes on the Onitsha-Owerri expressway near Okija, they quickly abandoned the truck, veered off the road, and fled the scene.

In response, Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has ordered a thorough manhunt for the gunmen. He appeals to local residents in the area to come forward with any valuable information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects.

The Commissioner assures the public that all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
