The Anambra State Police Command has recovered the lifeless body of a man alleged to have been kidnapped, Mr. Ozor Augustine Chido, and has launched a full-scale investigation to apprehend those behind the crime.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the victim was reportedly abducted on the morning of June 19, 2025, at his piggery farm in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area. Despite active efforts by operatives to secure his release, his body was discovered near the same farm in the early hours of June 23, 2025.
The Command expressed deep sympathy to the family of the deceased and members of the Nimo community over what it described as a “dastardly act,” and assured that all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Commissioner of Police, CP Orutugu, has personally extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured that the investigation will be thorough and relentless.
The victim’s body has since been deposited in the morgue, while police continue combing the area and surrounding communities for leads.
