Anambra Police Launch Investigation Into The Murder of UNIZIK Staff Fabian Chinedu Osita

The Anambra State Police Command has begun investigations into the tragic murder of Mr. Fabian Osita Chinedu, a staff member of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), who was allegedly shot by unidentified gunmen on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Aroma Junction, Awka.

The assailants reportedly made away with Mr. Chinedu’s vehicle, a 2006 ash-colored Toyota Corolla with Enugu plate number UWN 158 AS. The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 pm, leaving the university community and the victim’s family in shock and mourning.

In a statement, the Command extended its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, as well as the management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga called on members of the public to provide any information that could assist in the investigation.

The Command also appealed for information regarding the stolen vehicle or any abandoned car matching its description. Individuals with relevant details are encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Command Control Room at 07039194332 or SP Ikenga Tochukwu directly at 08039334002.
