The Anambra State Police Command has initiated steps to identify an officer allegedly involved in the extortion of ₦810,000. The incident, which came to light via a post on X (formerly Twitter), involves a yet-to-be-identified officer from the command.

According to a statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, the matter has been escalated to the Area Commander in Onitsha for further action. The Command is actively seeking to identify the officer involved and ensure appropriate measures are taken.

Additionally, the Anambra State Police Command has extended an invitation to the victim of the alleged extortion to visit the Police Command Headquarters in Awka. The victim is requested to meet with the Police Public Relations Office to provide more details that will aid the investigation.
