Anambra Police Criticize Report On Missing Rifles, Label It As Personal Agenda

The Anambra State Police Command has strongly criticized a recent publication titled “Fear in Anambra Community Over Missing 19 Rifles,” describing it as an attempt to promote personal agendas and seek attention. The Command condemned the unprofessional conduct of certain media personnel who published the story without consulting relevant authorities.

In a statement, the Command highlighted that such a serious incident had not been reported to any security agency or concerned authority, raising doubts about the credibility of the report. The police expressed concern that the publication appears to be aimed at creating tension within the state, fostering discord between groups, and serving personal interests.

Despite these allegations, the Command assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated. The police reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with other security agencies and recognized stakeholders to enforce the law, maintain public order and safety, and provide support services across the state.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command, emphasized that the police will continue to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
