The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has embarked on an ambitious infrastructural development agenda aimed at transforming the Anambra State Police Command. This initiative includes the construction of the long-abandoned Anambra State Police Officers’ Mess and proposals for a befitting State Police Headquarters and a Commissioner of Police Quarters.

The projects are part of CP Itam’s commitment to modernizing police facilities, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the living conditions of officers in the state. By addressing these critical needs, the Commissioner aims to strengthen the Command’s capabilities and improve service delivery to the public.

To bring these developments to fruition, CP Itam has called for public goodwill donations, urging individuals and organizations to support the Command’s efforts to give the state police infrastructure a much-needed facelift.

The proposed initiatives promise a range of benefits, including improved living and working conditions for police officers, advanced facilities for operations and training, enhanced collaboration between law enforcement and community stakeholders, and increased public trust in the Police. Additionally, the projects are expected to streamline police operations, improve response times, and optimize resource allocation within the Command.

CP Itam’s vision aligns with the broader goal of transforming the Anambra State Police Command into a more effective and responsive force, in line with the state’s motto as “_The Light of the Nation._”

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, highlighted the importance of the projects in enhancing the Command’s capacity to serve the people of Anambra State.

The call for public support underlines the collaborative approach of the Anambra State Police Command, emphasizing the shared responsibility of ensuring a secure and efficient police force in the state.

This move is seen as a significant step toward achieving a modern and community-focused police service in Anambra State.
