As part of a statewide initiative to improve safety and address security threats linked to Monday movement restrictions, Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam led a security advocacy meeting with key leaders of Idemili North Local Government Area. The session, held at the Ogidi Divisional Police Headquarters, brought together local leaders, including Chairman Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, traditional rulers, community presidents, Anambra Vigilante members, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
During the meeting, CP Itam urged residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to actively collaborate with the Police and other security agencies to counter criminal activities tied to the no-movement directive on Mondays. He underscored the importance of public trust in law enforcement and reassured participants of the Police Command’s dedication to maintaining public safety.
In response, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka commended the Commissioner for his proactive approach and pledged to support police operations by renovating damaged facilities, including the Ogidi Police Area Command Headquarters. Representing the traditional rulers, His Royal Highness Godwin Nwabunwanne O. committed to enhancing community awareness and promoting vigilance.
