Anambra Police Command Reports Improved Security Under CP Ikioye Orutugu


The Anambra State Police Command has recorded significant improvements in security and safety within the past month under the leadership of CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, the 35th Commissioner of Police in the state.

In a security review released on March 10, 2025, the Command acknowledged the role of Ndi Anambra, relevant stakeholders, and other security agencies in ensuring stability. CP Orutugu commended police operatives for their professionalism and reiterated that the Command remains open to constructive criticism to enhance its anti-crime strategies.

However, the Commissioner warned against emerging threats posed by some elements planning to disrupt the current peace in the state. He urged individuals involved in criminal activities to reconsider their actions, stating that the Command is fully prepared to deal decisively with any security threats. Residents were also encouraged to report suspicious activities and expose troublemakers.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, assured residents that security agencies would continue to work collaboratively to maintain stability in the state.
