Anambra Police Command Intensifies Crackdown On Illegal Sit-At-Home Order

The Anambra State Police Command has intensified its operations against the illegal sit-at-home order, with Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc mnips PhD leading an advocacy campaign to restore normalcy in the state.

Speaking on Monday, March 3, CP Orutugu expressed concern over the negative impact of the unlawful order on Anambra’s social and economic growth. He emphasized the need to educate residents about its consequences and assured that the police would take necessary measures to ensure public safety.

As part of the command’s renewed strategy, law enforcement officers are working to counter criminal activities linked to the sit-at-home directive, including attacks on civilians, security personnel, kidnappings, and destruction of public infrastructure.

CP Orutugu highlighted that Anambra is home to hardworking and enterprising individuals whose potential can only be fully realized in a peaceful and secure environment. He urged residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear, assuring them that security forces have taken over the streets—especially on Mondays—to maintain order.

The Commissioner further disclosed that the police are collaborating with local leaders and stakeholders to address the root causes of the sit-at-home order and develop a sustainable solution.

The Anambra State Police Command reassured the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging citizens to support efforts to restore peace and stability.
