The Anambra State Police Command has been urged to intensify its offensive against armed hoodlums in the state. This call to action was made by Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam as part of the ongoing training and retraining program aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and crime prevention strategies.
On July 3, 2024, CP Itam led police operatives to the shooting range to assess the schedule and progress of the training. He emphasized the importance of building courage and confidence among officers in confronting armed criminals and responding effectively to distress calls.
The CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to improving public safety and maintaining law and order in Anambra State. He warned individuals involved in criminal activities to abandon their unlawful pursuits, assuring that the police and other security agencies will not permit any disgruntled elements to disrupt the peace and safety of the state’s residents.
“Those who were misled to take to crime must retrace their steps,” CP Itam stated firmly, highlighting the zero-tolerance stance towards criminal activities.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra State Police Command, reinforced the CP’s message, urging the public to support the police in their efforts to combat crime and ensure a secure environment for all.
For more information or to report suspicious activities, residents are encouraged to contact the Anambra State Police Command in Awka.
